PPDS Announces New 75-inch Hospitality Display

PPDS has announced the launch of a new 75-inch hospitality display that it is calling the company’s “biggest and most immersive” display for that vertical market.

According to the company, the 4K UHD Philips MediaSuite connected pro TV is designed to bring a movie theater experience to guest rooms for the company’s North American customers. It will be debuted at InfoComm 2021 in Orlando next month.

Jeroen Verhaeghe, business manager for hospitality at PPDS, said in a statement that the company prides itself on innovation and bringing cutting-edge solutions to market, especially the hospitality market that is constantly evolving.

“We have a responsibility to our customers and the wider market to be able to respond quickly and accordingly, whether it’s software or hardware related,” Verhaeghe said. “The market has asked for a 75” version of MediaSuite and that’s exactly what we’re delivering.”

As with other MediaSuite models, this upgradable display runs on the Android TV OS and is equipped with entertainment choice and capabilities as well as advanced personalization, remote control and management features.

Google’s media streaming device Chromecast is built in to the display, allowing guests to stream and view their own content in 4K from their personal devices with just the touch of a button and no additional apps or hardware.

The displays also offer access to thousands of apps via Google Play, including streaming apps like YouTube, Spotify, Disney+ and other news, weather and traffic apps.

A new feature with these displays is voice control capabilities that turn mobile phones into a TV remote. In addition, the displays get regular updates via the company’s Extended Lifetime guarantee so they are always updated with the latest features and security patches.

Joe King, commercial VP at PPDS, said in a statement that hospitality clients were looking for larger in-room display sizes, and the MediaSuite 75’ fits that bill.

“There was a time when the hotel TV was something to be excited about, as it would offer an experience that would often surpass that achievable at home,” King said. “In recent times, those expectations have sadly flipped around, with the market failing to keep pace with the ever-evolving needs and requirements of both the hotelier and the guest. That’s why we have returned to this market and with Philips MediaSuite, we have the world’s first and only TV range designed and built for the hotel experience, catering to not only their current, but also future needs.”
